And so the 12 Days Begin

Well scrappers, you know it's 'tis the season when Tim Holtz starts his 12 Tags of Christmas! Here it  is Season 5 or is it 6..anyway...today is day 1.

So here is the tag that Tim came up with ...I didn't have a lot of what he did, but I was able to 'improvise' a lot and still come out with a great tag.  My only ugh is that I think I used a bit too much of the white paint/stickles on the greenery... My favorite part is the banner.  I didn't have any music stamps so I found some vintage music sheets on the 'net and printed it off onto some Kraft cardstock and then added some Vintage Photo DI to it.  A little distressing and voila!   Also didn't have the pinecone die so I used one of my flower dies instead and I think it worked alright :)

Stay tuned tomorrow for the next one.  It goes live on Tim's blog in a couple of hours but I'll be asleep by then :)  Catch it in the morning...it's like opening up my advent calendar each day :)

Animal Antics

It's a new challenge at the Poodles Parlour this week. It's all about the Animal Antics.    Bugaboo

is our great sponsor this week and they gave us the cutest images to work with!  I made this adorable baby card for my DT inspiration this week....

After coloring the image with my copics, I inked around it while in the nestiblility.  The paper and little sentiment is from a Hot Off the Press baby 8x8 pack that I have had forever.  The buttons and the twine from my stash as was the bling.  I received the butterfly in a swap ages ago and am glad I was finally able to use it! A little bit of border punching and voila! I hope you like it.  Please stop by the Poodles Parlour blog to link up your own project for this week's challenge and for all the details on how you can win from our great sponsor Bugaboo!

I've entered into the following challenges:

Lollipop Crafts Celebration Blog Hop

Hi everyone!
"It's time for a CELEBRATION!!!  Lollipop Crafts is celebrating their ONE YEAR BLOGAVERSARY and you are sweetly invited to join the fun!

First of all, we are back from summer break with our weekly challenge.  The theme this week is CELEBRATION!  Create a card/project with a celebration theme (ex. birthday, anniversary, wedding, new baby, graduation, etc)  We all have something to celebrate right?  It is the first challenge of the month and that means we are sponsored this week by Meljen's Designs.

One lucky random challenge player this week will win a fantastic prize.  Be sure to link your creations with InLinkz on the LC blog for a chance.  Check out the challenge rules too!

Secondly, it wouldn't be a celebration without some FUN!  Join in on our Anniversary blog hop!  You have until tomorrow (Tuesday at midnight PST) to visit and comment on each DT member's blog.  Make sure you visit each of us because their are hidden prizes (the DT doesn't even know who has the prizes).  Winners will be announced on Wednesday.  List of blog hop sponsors can be found on the LC blog and the master blog hop order is there too!

You should have arrived here from Kim's blog.  If you hopped here by chance, please head over to Lollipop Crafts and begin your journey there.

Using Meljen's Bunbun image (this is so adorable) I created this cute little birthday card.  One can never have enough birthday cards in my opinion.

The DP is from Bazill (Grandma's Feather Bed).  The image is colored with copics with just a hint of paper piecing with the party hat and cupcake.   I also added just a bit of stickles as well.  The ribbon is from my stash and I cut the balloons out using my Celebrations cartridge and then ran them through the cuttlebug with the polkadots folder.  Since my FB win with Whisker Graphics, I've been using a lot of their baker's twine which I incorporated here for the balloon strings.  The sentiment is a stamp set from Hot Off the Press.  I hope you like it!

Now it's time for you to hop on over to  Zulma's  blog to see what she has created for you and don't forget to leave her some some sugar!!"

A Handmade Challenge on Sarah Hurley

It's a new challenge at Sarah Hurley this week.  Thanks to all of our participants for last week's summer challenge.  Great job to everyone and the winners are posted on the blog.  This week, Ria has given us the challenge of adding handmade flowers to our projects.  A great challenge to be sure.

I have used the DP and image from Sarah's new Oz collection which can be found here.  This collection is adorable!  I printed out the clip art version of Glinda rather than doing my own coloring this time.   I cut her out and added some stickles to her wings for a bit of sparkle.  I made my flowers using ribbon rather than paper for this challenge.  I really liked how they turned out and I just added a little pearl to the centre of each one.  I used my new MS punch that I picked up yesterday to add a bit of border to my card.  The sentiment came as part of a swap.  Enjoy and I look forward to seeing your projects this week.

I've entered into the following challenges:

Crafty Creations: Dress Up

Fresh Brewed Challenges: Put a little song in your heart (Somewhere over the Rainbow)

I'm so excited!

I have been asked to be the guest designer for June at CRAFT YOUR PASSION!.

I want to thank them for this great opportunity and I am very excited to be joining them this month.

So today is the first Monday of the month and that means that it is an anything goes challenge!  Who doesn't love those!  Create what you want and show it off.  All of the challenge details including prizes can be found here.   So for my first challenge with CYP, I am using a great image from Lauretta.  If you remember about a year or so back, I created a card with the saying 'a true friend tells you about the toilet paper stuck to your shoe'.  I really love this saying and I totally know that my BFF would not only tell me, she would probably try and pick it up herself..LOL  When I saw this image, that saying was the first thing that popped into my mind to put with it.

I used some scraps of the Bo Bunny Gabrielle that I had left over from a layout that I did for Scrapbook Your Heart.  I inked the image with some distress ink and then I colored it with my Copics, followed by some bling action in the form of my stickles and glitter.  The ribbon (Savvy n Sassy) and pearls are from my stash and the toilet paper is well, from my bathroom :) and I attached it with some adhesive.  I hope that you enjoy my card and don't forget to join us at Craft Your Passion with your own creation.  The rest of the design team has created some fantastic inspiration pieces for you so you don't want to miss out on that!

I've entered this card into the following challenges:

The Emerald Faerie GardenChallenge: lots of bling

Paper Sundaes: Let's get Sentimental

Sentimental Sundays: Inspired by a Song (Old Brown Shoe by the Beatles)

A sponsored Challenge at Sarah Hurley

ey everyone!

This week on the Sarah Hurley Challenge Blog we are lucky enough to be sponsored by GallimaufryUK digi kits. GallimaufryUK is the work of Penni Taylor, a fantastic scrapbook digi designer. She creates beautiful kits fthat are great for  digi and hybrid scrapping with papers, elements, alphabets, word art and so much more. Every kit is truly an inspiration. Please check out her blog and her store for lots of great products and inspiration!

The Design Team was given her Bloomin' Lovely kit to work with and oh wow! The images on this are soooo pretty! Perfect for all your spring and summer layouts, whether you do digital projects or not~!  I don't make digital layouts but I had such fun printing off these elements to use for my cards and layouts. You need to stop by the SH blog to see all the great DT inspiration for you!

Here is the card that I made for the summer themed challenge.  I know my card says Happy Spring, but believe me, here in Calgary Spring and Summer are pretty much the same thing..LOL you don't get a lot of distinction when you have snow up until May!

I printed off the balloon, flowers and grass and then cut them out.  I added a bit of inking to the balloon and some stickles to the flower to add a bit of dimension.  The DP is also from GallimaufryUK.  I added a bit of fibre to accent the grass and the sky and some little letters that were given to me in a swap.  I am looking forward to seeing your entries into this week challenge, it runs until June 12th so you have lots of time to enter!

Here's my card for this week's challenge.  I have been working on some circle journals so I decided to use the scrap paper I had left over to create my challenges this week.  It was fun to see what I could come up with.

A Fairy Hello

Hello! I hope that you moms out there had a lovely Mother's Day yesterday.  There is nothing I am more proud of than being a mom to my little Riley.  I can't believe he'll be 2 in July!  Time does fly.

Today is a new challenge on the Lollipop Crafts blog. We are being sponsored by Soft Pencil this week

and here is the link to their site and you can check out all the great digital images & all that Elizabeth has to offer.  Our challenge this week is a fancy folds one...so we'd like to see creations with more than one fold on them.  Here is mine for this week.

The image is from SoftPencil's Tinytwinies which the DT got to play with.  So cute. This is the Charming Flowers image. How adorable is this!  I colored her using my Copics. I used some Sarah Hurley digital papers for this card. She has some great stuff so make sure you check the link! The main butterfly was cut using a scrap piece from the card and then the other accent butterflies I cut out using some scrap cardstock and then I doused them with versamark and applied some clear embossing powder to them to give them some shine and some texture.  I also added a little bit of bling to them.  The ribbon was part of a swap on Swap-bot that I received.  The sentiment is using my tiny type letters.  I haven't used these for so long I practically had to blow the dust off. I also added some stickles to her wings and the fairy dust that she sprinkled.

I hope you like the card and I hope you'll join in on our challenge this week. Sorry my picture is so dark, it's been rainy here the last few days (which I guess is better than snowy right??)

Here is my card for this challenge

I used the Bride and Groom image from Digital Delights, which I colored with copics and added a bit of stickles to her dress and veil.  The DP was just some pieces from my stash.  I added a seed bead flower that was sent to me in a swap as well as some felt hearts and a little metal tag.  The last bit was some silver cord into a bow behind the flower.  The actual sketch for this card came from the Scrapbook and Cards Today Cardmaps book.

A Lollipop Shape Challenge

Good morning all..it's Monday so another new challenge over at Lollipop Crafts.  Our great sponsorthis week is Just Some Lines and they gave us some images to work with.  We're doing a non square/rectangle card/project this week...so if you have one that has a shape to it, make sure you enter it into our challenge on the blog.

Here is mine this week

I cut the shape out using my A Child's Year cartridge on my cricut.  That cart is great for cutting out shapes.  For something different, I had tried coloring the images using my chalks and my blender pen...It didn't work out quite the way I wanted it to, other than in the hair, so I went over the images with my glitter and stickles instead because the shine matched the bit of glitter in the DP I used.  To finish it off, I just used some buttons and flowers in my stash, a die cut butterfly that was white and inked green and then a few pearls.  The stamped sentiment is just from an old set I have and use quite often!

I've entered into the following challenges:

Creative Inspirations Paint: Flowers

Sparkles Forum Challenges: Springtime

Gem of a Challenge: Anything but a Square

Digis by Phooka: Flower Power

Stamps R Us: Spring

Digital Tuesday Challenge: Button Up

Flutterby Wednesday: Must have an angel, butterfly, or fairy on project

Creative Cottage: spring

Shaping it Up on the Crazy Challenge

It's a new challenge over at CCH and this week it's all about the shaped cards!  We would like to see some fun and unique shapes, anything that isn't your typical square/rectangle traditional.  Our sponsor this week is the Digi Doodle Shop and they have some fabulous images, some of which we got to play with.  Here's my card for this week

The shape was cut out using one of my cricut cartridges ( A Child's Year I believe, very versatile).  I punched the butterflies using one of my cuttlebug dies and added a few bits of bling to liven them up.  The image was colored with my copics and the DP was just from my stash.  I have been introduced to flocking! I picked some up on sale at my LSS and love it, so the bunny's ears and her eggs are flock! Way cool!  I hope you like it and be sure to stop by the challenge blog and enter this week's challenge!

Entered into the following challenges:

The Crafty Pad: use a digi

I Did It Creations: Welcome Spring

Aly's Sunday Challenge: Happy Spring

Creative Inspirations Paint: Easter
A Gem of a Challenge: Anything but a square

Papertake Weekly: Three of something (I have three little rosebuds)

They chose a theme of Embossing this week and have given us some embossing folders as a prize! There will be 3 for the winner and one each for 2nd and 3rd place. You can see them on their website here

Here is my card for this week's challenge

I used some of Sarah's digital papers for the balloons (which can be found in the store here. I embossed the balloons using the Houndstooth Cuttlebug folder and then raised a few of them with pop dots. I added some thick twine to use as strings and then tied it with the red twine. A simple sentiment from Sarah's store and the card is finished. The edge embossing was done with my Scor-Buddy. Just a nice touch I think. I hope you enjoy this card and don't forget to head over to the challenge blog to play along for that great prize this week from Handy Hippo!

We  have warm birthday wishes for Kris as well as some projects that we want to share with you to help celebrate.  Of course it wouldn't be a birthday without gifts, so Lollipop Crafts is giving a surprise gift to one random winner from all the hoppers!  How can you win it???

1. Visit each blog in the hop and leave a comment.

2.  Visit Kris'  blog and leave her some birthday wishes.

3. At the end of the hop, head back to the Lollipop blog and let us know what you thought and why not leave Kris some birthday wishes there too.

It's a Lacy Thing

Good morning everyone!  It's challenge day at Lollipop Crafts and this week it's all about the lace!  Such a pretty dainty thing and we'd like to see what you can do with it on your projects.  It can be actual lace, lace punches, lacy borders whatever you can come up with.  All of the deets can be found on our challenge blog so please stop by and enter.  I can't wait to see what you create and the design team as well as our two guest designers this month have created some gorgeous projects for you!

So here is my dainty little piece.

I have no idea why I decided to do a Christmas card.  I think it's because I had that embossed piece of cardstock and really wanted to use it up.  I had seen an all white card in a magazine I picked up recently and loved the look of it so I knew I wanted to try that as well.  So this is what I came up with.  The cardstock is embossed with a cuttlebug folder.  The lace is actually cut off from a big sheet of it that I found when I was cleaning my scrap area.  I have no idea where it was from.  The sentiment is Stampin Up and the big glittered snowflake and the smaller one are from my big stash box of Christmas stuff.  I hope you like it. The ribbon is just from my stash as well.

I've entered into the following challenges....

Creative Cowgirls: Monochromatic

Let's Ink It Up: Embossing and no Digis

Paper Sundaes: Keep it Simple

Our Creative Corner: use fabric (ribbon doesn't count)

Simply Create: monochromatic

A Floral Thank You with Sarah Hurley

So today's marks my debut as part of the Sarah Hurley DT.  Our theme this week is Flowers...
Without further adieu here is mine... (shout out to Lori Padberg.  It was one of her creations that inspired mine.  I loved the simple look of it)
I used some digital paper & sentiment from Sarah's line which can be found here.

The flower is from my stash and I just inked it up a bit with some red ink.  I did some die cutting as well for the flowers and used the spellbinders to showcase the flower.  And of course some embossing using the fleur de lis embossing folder from Cuttlebug.  A really simple card but I quite like it.  Make sure you stop by the Sarah Hurley challenge blog to get your own flower entries in!  We can't wait to see them!

I've entered into the following challenges:

Anything Goes Challenge Blog: diecuts

Creative Craft Challenge: thank you

Desert Island Crafters: use 3 items from the itinerary ( 2PP, distressing, inspired by nature)

Gingerloft: Flowers
