Lots of news!

Hello all!  It has been a very stressful weekend in my home! My mom was recently admitted to the hospital for what we thought was a brain tumor but actually turned out to be 4 aneurysms in her brain!  She is doing well after 16 hrs of surgery and is expected to return home at the end of the week.  My family is off to visit her on Saturday and I will be spending 8 days in BC to help her recuperate!  We came very close to losing her, and ii honestly believe that it is by the hand of God that I am not attending an upcoming funeral.  She really was lucky they caught this in time as it had been leaking for over a week!  She could have died had any of them ruptured or if the leaking had continued on for another week or so!  We are just so thankful that she is okay.  A big shout out to friends and family who kept us in your prayers over the last few days! Now I have been sitting on something for awhile now and am finally able to share with you!  As you can tell by my sidebar there are some

Just for you-UIT challenge #36

Hello all! We have a great and perhaps a very tough challenge for some of you this week.  I know it was really hard for me.  This week, we want you to dig into that pile of paper you have been hoarding because it's just too pretty to cut into. USE YOUR UNCUT PAPER! You know the one, you've had it forever and don't want to touch a single piece of it because once it is gone, it's gone! What can I say except the old cliche   JUST DO IT! It's like a band aid, rip it off quickly and be done with it.  Once you make that first cut with the trimmer you are good for the rest. So as you know, I am a big hoarder of Basic Grey.  I love BG, I adore BG.  I have a lot of BG.  There were a lot of lines for me to choose from for this week's challenge but I ended up using some Basic Grey Koshi line. So I not only used one, but several sheets of it!  Go big or go home right???  I have this in the 12x12 and the 6x6 so really, there's no excuse for me not to use it, I just

I'm so excited to be sharing with you my first challenge card as part of the Use it Tuesday design team for this term.  Honestly, if you need to be challenged to use that stuff you already have piling up on your desk, this is the blog for you.  You would be surprised how much stuff I have used and not only that, how much stuff I've come across that I had forgotten I've even had. Sooo...this week we are embossing!  Blow the dust off your embossing folders (like I did), dig out that embossing powder, whatever you have laying around.  As always, one lucky participant will be randomly chosen to be a featured guest designer in an upcoming challenge! ***REMEMBER: All of our challenges call for you to use your hoarded supplies! A challenge requirement is to tell us in your post what you used!*** Here is what I have for you today! So I wasn't kidding when I said I blew the dust off of my embossing folder.  I think this is one of the first ones I ever bought when I f

Mama Mia Lollipop Challenge #79

Hi everyone! I hope you enjoyed National Scrapbooking Day on Saturday.  I was lucky enough to spend it with my BFF and another good friend at a crop put on by Scrapshotz every year in May.  Always a lot of fun. Our challenge at Lollipop Crafts this week is being sponsored by Meljen's designs .  A favorite of mine to be sure.  Our challenge is Mama Mia, so any project paying tribute to that special woman in your life..could be mom, grandma, mother in law, daughter who's a mom....that sort of thing For my project today I wanted to share with you this really adorable card that we made for our make and take at the crop on Saturday.  Virginia from Scrapshotz's design team always has THE BEST make and takes. It's really hard to tell, but the yellow paper actually has a honeycomb pattern in resist on it and then we inked over it with some chalk inks.  I used the yellow and you can see a very bit of the blue in there. Very cool.  The flower was cut from a spellbinders. T

Hello all! Welcome to Monday here on my blog. It's been awhile since I've posted here on blogger as I usually do everything on my wordpress, but I really need to start using both of them! LOL  It's a new challenge at Lollipop Crafts and this week is an Anything Goes challenge.  So it's just for fun and we get to highlight our top three on Sunday!  Let your creative juices run wild!  I know the DT has some wicked inspiration for you so don't forget to stop by the blog and leave them some love! So as you know, I belong to Swap-bot.com which I love because of all the different card swaps they do there.  I have one that is a card swap with a twist...so my partner actually sends me the embellishments to put on the card, I make it and send it back.  So I was sent some ribbon, a flower,a button and a brad.  Not a lot to work with, but luckily they all matched.  So this is the card that I created inspired by the supplies I was sent. Someone had sent me this stamped imag
