Lots of news!

Hello all!  It has been a very stressful weekend in my home! My mom was recently admitted to the hospital for what we thought was a brain tumor but actually turned out to be 4 aneurysms in her brain!  She is doing well after 16 hrs of surgery and is expected to return home at the end of the week.  My family is off to visit her on Saturday and I will be spending 8 days in BC to help her recuperate!  We came very close to losing her, and ii honestly believe that it is by the hand of God that I am not attending an upcoming funeral.  She really was lucky they caught this in time as it had been leaking for over a week!  She could have died had any of them ruptured or if the leaking had continued on for another week or so!  We are just so thankful that she is okay.  A big shout out to friends and family who kept us in your prayers over the last few days!

Now I have been sitting on something for awhile now and am finally able to share with you!  As you can tell by my sidebar there are some new badges for Digital Delights!

I am honored to have been asked to join their DT for the upcoming term!  I know you have seen the DD images all over blogland and as a sponsor for several challenges so you can understand how I am really excited to work with Wendy and a great bunch of gals bringing you some awesome creations with these great images.  Make sure you look around the store........here!  My first project for you is coming up this week with the new August release so make sure you stop by and check it out!

Here's what I have for you this week!

The image is from Tiddlyinks and can be found here.  I colored this little guy in with my copics.  The DP is from Basic Grey (of course) and I think is called Max and Whiskers.  A little work with my spellbinders and the little bone was sent to me in a swap.  The sentiment stamp is one that I bought at Michael's forever ago and use quite often.  I also added a bit of faux stitching using my white gel pen.  I hope you like this week's challenge card and again, please stop by the blog to see what the rest of the DT has for you!

Just for you-UIT challenge #36

Hello all! We have a great and perhaps a very tough challenge for some of you this week.  I know it was really hard for me.  This week, we want you to dig into that pile of paper you have been hoarding because it's just too pretty to cut into. USE YOUR UNCUT PAPER! You know the one, you've had it forever and don't want to touch a single piece of it because once it is gone, it's gone! What can I say except the old cliche  JUST DO IT! It's like a band aid, rip it off quickly and be done with it.  Once you make that first cut with the trimmer you are good for the rest.

So as you know, I am a big hoarder of Basic Grey.  I love BG, I adore BG.  I have a lot of BG.  There were a lot of lines for me to choose from for this week's challenge but I ended up using some Basic Grey Koshi line. So I not only used one, but several sheets of it!  Go big or go home right???  I have this in the 12x12 and the 6x6 so really, there's no excuse for me not to use it, I just wanted to keep it. (I couldn't even find anyone that still carries it to link for you, this is how long I've been hoarding it.  You can't even get it anymore! )So I decided to make this cute little card holder and a set of 8 cards to sell at my craft fair this coming winter.

I also dove into a stamp set that I have had for awhile but never used and it was Lanterns by Inkadinkado.  I really liked this set but just never cracked it open.

All of the embellishments, which were mostly just ribbon and buttons came from my stash.  I didn't want to over embellish these as I am selling them and perhaps whoever buys them wants to mail them.  I tried to keep them as flat as possible.   I used a variety of my Tim Holtz distress inks for this project and also my spellbinders to liven up the shapes of the images.  I really like how they turned out and I hope someone else does as well, enough to buy them:)

Make sure you stop by the UIT blog this week to enter our challenge and to see the rest of the really great projects the DT has for you this week.  I'm sure there were a lot of tears in craft rooms as we broke down and used up some of our favorite papers!

A Christmas Fairy

Happy Friday one and all!  It has been a busy week for me, between potty training my 3 year old, working 2 jobs, DT commitments and preparing for a garage sale this weekend! (What a lot of work that is!)  It's a new challenge at DigiHaven this week.  We are looking for fairies! :)

Here are this week's details:

July 20, 2012 - Fanciful Fairy Digi Challenge.  Use any FREE Fairy or Winged Cherub digital Image. The image can be a forever freebie, limited time freebie or freebie of the month as long as it’s free for the duration of this challenge.  Please be sure to link back to the original artist or website on your blog.  This Challenge ends on Thursday and the winners will be posted on Sunday.

I have a fairy Christmas card for you this week.  Yes! I am still working on Christmas cards and I will probably working on Christmas cards until after Christmas..LOL

It's been a long time since I've done a shaped card, so that's what I opted for this week.  Cut out with my spellbinders.  The DP is Nordic Holiday from BG and the flowers are from my stash.  They are white but I spritzed a couple of them for some color to match the paper.  The image can be found here.  The artist is Angela Poole.

I hope you enjoy this week's card.  Please stop by the DigiHaven blog to upload your own project and to see the great inspiration the girls have for you and the links as well.  thanks for stopping by!

Hippo Birthday-Use It Tuesday Challenge #35

I'm so excited to be sharing with you my first challenge card as part of the Use it Tuesday design team for this term.  Honestly, if you need to be challenged to use that stuff you already have piling up on your desk, this is the blog for you.  You would be surprised how much stuff I have used and not only that, how much stuff I've come across that I had forgotten I've even had.

Sooo...this week we are embossing!  Blow the dust off your embossing folders (like I did), dig out that embossing powder, whatever you have laying around.  As always, one lucky participant will be randomly chosen to be a featured guest designer in an upcoming challenge!

***REMEMBER: All of our challenges call for you to use your hoarded supplies! A challenge requirement is to tell us in your post what you used!***

Here is what I have for you today!

So I wasn't kidding when I said I blew the dust off of my embossing folder.  I think this is one of the first ones I ever bought when I first got my cuttlebug.  The image and sentiment are from my image bin, sent to me in a swap ages ago.  I wish I had more of it because I would have liked to have made a set of these cards in a variety of colors, but I only have this one.  The ribbon, bling and cardstock are all from my stash, and in fact were pieces just sitting on my desk when I was creating this card.  The only thing that is not new, is the ink that I used..Sorry! I had to crack open that new Tim Holtz distress ink in the new picked raspberry.  What a hot pink this is!

I'm really pleased how this card turned out and I hope you like it too.  Make sure you stop by the blog and see the rest of the DT  inspiration for you this week and don't forget to leave them some love as well.  I can't wait to see what you create for this challenge!

I am super excited to announce that I have been asked to join the Use It Tuesday Design Team!  Anyone that knows me, knows that this DT is tailor made for me because we are going to focus on using our stash, all those bits and pieces that we already have and are just hoarding for the right project.  In preparation for this, I have been snooping around my crafts space and you wouldn't believe the stuff I have found that I didn't know I had and am excited to start using up...(really does one need THAT  MANY rubons???).

I hope that you will join me and the other ladies each week as we try to inspire you with what we have hanging around.  Make sure you stop by the blog and say hi to everyone and check us out.  A new challenges starts on Tuesday of course the first one with this term's DT!~  I've got a great project for you then, so tune back in!

Mama Mia Lollipop Challenge #79

Hi everyone! I hope you enjoyed National Scrapbooking Day on Saturday.  I was lucky enough to spend it with my BFF and another good friend at a crop put on by Scrapshotz every year in May.  Always a lot of fun.

Our challenge at Lollipop Crafts this week is being sponsored by Meljen's designs.  A favorite of mine to be sure.  Our challenge is Mama Mia, so any project paying tribute to that special woman in your life..could be mom, grandma, mother in law, daughter who's a mom....that sort of thing

For my project today I wanted to share with you this really adorable card that we made for our make and take at the crop on Saturday.  Virginia from Scrapshotz's design team always has THE BEST make and takes.

It's really hard to tell, but the yellow paper actually has a honeycomb pattern in resist on it and then we inked over it with some chalk inks.  I used the yellow and you can see a very bit of the blue in there. Very cool.  The flower was cut from a spellbinders. Totally loving that 3D look.

We also created the ever cool tea bag holder.  I am still waiting to get the template on this one, so if anyone knows where it came from please let me know!

I hope you enjoyed today's projects.  Feel free to stop by the Scrapshotz Blog for some great inspiration, tips and techniques, and join the forum for great challenges and a lot of fun!

Most importantly, don't forget to stop by the Lollipop Crafts blog and enter into our challenge this week.

These have been entered into the following challenges:

Dream Valley challenges: for a special lady

Great Impressions: anything goes

Paper Sundaes: Mother's day

Sentimental Sundays: for a special woman

Really Reasonable Ribbon: mother's day/something feminine

Through the Craftroom Door: Happy Mother's Day

Bella in Blue

Hello all! Welcome to Monday here on my blog. It's been awhile since I've posted here on blogger as I usually do everything on my wordpress, but I really need to start using both of them! LOL

It's a new challenge at Lollipop Crafts and this week is an Anything Goes challenge.  So it's just for fun and we get to highlight our top three on Sunday!  Let your creative juices run wild!  I know the DT has some wicked inspiration for you so don't forget to stop by the blog and leave them some love!

So as you know, I belong to Swap-bot.com which I love because of all the different card swaps they do there.  I have one that is a card swap with a twist...so my partner actually sends me the embellishments to put on the card, I make it and send it back.  So I was sent some ribbon, a flower,a button and a brad.  Not a lot to work with, but luckily they all matched.  So this is the card that I created inspired by the supplies I was sent. Someone had sent me this stamped image in a swap so it seemed like a good one to use up.  I cut it out using my Spellbinders and inked the edges with Broken China Distress Ink (BTW have you seen the new distress colors for spring IN LOVE!!!!).  I can't wait to get mine.  The DP is from the Kaisercraft Blae and Ivy set which is really pretty blues and greens!  I colored her using my ever trusty copics!

Here's the card

I've entered into the following challenges:

Amusing Challenges: anything goes

Catered Crop: B is for Bodacious (anything that begins with B..I have button, blue and Bella)

Craft Us Crazy: Inspire Us (found inspiration or favorite stamp) I had to be inspired by the supplies that were sent to me by my swap partner

Moving Along with the Times: Gardening or Flowers

Shelley's Images: How does your garden grow: use Pastels, Flowers and Kraft

Scrapalicious: flower power
