Grade 3 Cutie!

Image
Hey there! It's a new challenge from our new DT member Beth on the Use Your Stuff blog!  Her challenge is to use your favorite punches on your project. I have this heart punch that I bought at a garage sale years ago for like a dime!  It's one of my favorites because it just adds a pop of color to a layout or card...just a little finishing touch. Here is my layout for you this week.  I have been trying to use up the kits that I have and have been putting together and this one is made from the Yes, Please line from Amy Tangerine for American Crafts!  I love the colors in this line! Be sure to stop by the blog and join in on the fun!

So I get the monthly Paper Pumpkin kit from Stampin' Up.  I'm not 100% sold on it yet (it's been since September) but can't quite bring myself to cancel.  It's been hit and miss for me. The December kit was a desk calendar kit.  Ya, not my thing.  So with the help of Pinterest, I found some great card ideas instead! We have a challenge at Use Your Stuff this week which is Flowers!  Perfect.  The kit has some great flowery bits that I could use!  Take a look!     They actually turned out great! Thank you to those totally creative individuals on Pinterest! These are the rest of the cards I made with the kit!        All the sequins and butterflies (using the Butterflies thinlits from Stampin' Up) were from my stash as were some of the sentiments but much of the cards were from the kit.   I think they turned out well!  Now, make sure you stop by the Use Your Stuff blog this week and jo...

A Love Song

Image
February is the month of love.  We celebrate love in all its forms and shapes.....one of those is the love a mother has for her child! I had wanted to have a child for a long time, so when I found out that I was pregnant with my son, my heart began to overflow with love...before he was even born!  I didn't even know I could love someone so much that I had never met! This week at Use Your Stuff , we are being inspired by a love song!  The love song that I chose was called Baby Mine by Bette Midler from the Beaches Soundtrack - one of my all time favorite movies!  In the movie, that song is playing as one of the main characters is getting ready for the birth of her baby and they are decorating the nursery...I new I wanted to use it for the inspiration for my layout. My favorite line is:   B aby mine, don't you cry.                           Baby mine, dry your eyes.        ...

Glittery Valentine

Image
Can you believe February will be here soon?  My birthday is in about 2 weeks!  I'm celebrating with a bunch of my friends and having a wine and paint party....but that's another story.... Our new challenge is ready for you at the Use Your Stuff blog!  Renee is challenging us to use sequins and/or glitter on our pages.  Now we all know that I have a love/hate relationship with glitter that I am not sure I will ever get over.  Certainly not at this point, so I decided to forego actual glitter and instead, cracked open a big stack of glittered paper that I had.  I really loved the red and knew it would be perfect for a Valentine's card I need to send out to my Secret Cupid on the SCS site. I totally CASE'd it off of this card from Pinterest!  I hope you like it and I hope to see you play along with us on the blog this week!   Paper:  Recollections  Stamp: Stampin Up

A Blessing and a Gift

Hi Everyone!  I'm back from my annual Cuba vacation, which was perfect of course! Amazing weather and lots of fun! Time to get busy creating again!   Our challenge this week at Use Your Stuff is to create a project using 3 different patterned papers.  It's for challenges like this that I love co-ordinating paper from manufactures, and when they are double sided- even better! As I was doing a monthly challenge on the Scrap Shotz site as well which was to use a themed paper for a non-themed project, I chose some Valentine's Day papers from My Mind's Eye. I've had these papers for years and it was finally nice to get them open and used.  I chose them for a new baby layout instead!  I hope you like it and I hope you will join us on the blog and play along.      Paper: Be Loved & Love Me Do: My Minds Eye Vellum sentiment: DCWV Embellishments:  Ribbon, sequins - Michaels, Clear Date Piece - Little Yellow Bicycle, Hearts &...

Old School

Image
It is our first challenge of the new year at Use Your Stuff and I went old school for this one.  The challenge was to use tags on your project and I found some bits and pieces in my stash...die cuts, scraps, transparencies and decided to go with this layout. I don't often do double page layouts, but one of my challenges for this year is to use up my stash and a double layout will definitely help me do that!   It just has some simple stamping and inking.  I haven't found pictures to put into it yet....it feels vintage to me, so I need to find some of my old pics and see what I can pop in there. I hope you like it and will join us at UYS this week and play along!

Happy New Year! I am not a big resolution maker, but I am challenging myself to do more cards and layouts this year than last.  A reachable goal I think.  So I wanted to start off right away. My card today is for a SCS challenge for Free For All Friday...to us a cupcake/cake/frosting image.  I chose this Cupcake Belle image from C.C. Designs -- I haven't used it in awhile.   I hope you like it  Stamp: CC Designs - Cupcake Bella, Stampin Up - Celebrate today Paper:  Stampin Up - Moonlight Card Base: Michaels Dies: Stampin Up - Balloon Framelits, Spellbinders Inks: Ranger Coloring: Copics Embossing: We R Memory Keepers
