Hippo Birthday-Use It Tuesday Challenge #35


I'm so excited to be sharing with you my first challenge card as part of the Use it Tuesday design team for this term.  Honestly, if you need to be challenged to use that stuff you already have piling up on your desk, this is the blog for you.  You would be surprised how much stuff I have used and not only that, how much stuff I've come across that I had forgotten I've even had.

Sooo...this week we are embossing!  Blow the dust off your embossing folders (like I did), dig out that embossing powder, whatever you have laying around.  As always, one lucky participant will be randomly chosen to be a featured guest designer in an upcoming challenge!

Here is what I have for you today!



So I wasn't kidding when I said I blew the dust off of my embossing folder.  I think this is one of the first ones I ever bought when I first got my cuttlebug.  The image and sentiment are from my image bin, sent to me in a swap ages ago.  I wish I had more of it because I would have liked to have made a set of these cards in a variety of colors, but I only have this one.  The ribbon, bling and cardstock are all from my stash, and in fact were pieces just sitting on my desk when I was creating this card.  The only thing that is not new, is the ink that I used..Sorry! I had to crack open that new Tim Holtz distress ink in the new picked raspberry.  What a hot pink this is!

Vintage Tag for St. Pattys (Challenge Masters DT)

Hey there...so my last tag challenge as the Tag Diva for Challenge Masters, is to create a green tag..it can be any subject as long as it is mainly green...you can check out all the deets here by the way... So this is the one I created. I colored my tag using Pine Needles, Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint Distress Inks with a little Vintage Photo thrown in. I had printed off a vintage pic from the internet because I really don't have a lot of St. Patrick's Day images. I used the vintage photo on it as well and then the rest of the tag was just made using some bits and bobs from my stash. The DP is some BG I've been using for other projects..The flower I inked up a bit to blend it with the tag and same with the lacy ribbon on the bottom (it was originally beige). St. Patrick's Day

It's all about the green this week at Creative Corner Challenges .  It's my month to host and with St. Patrick's Day coming up my challenge this week is Go Green.  You have to have something green on your project.  An easy challenge to be sure, so I hope many people sign up.  I'm even offering a little prize this week. Here's my card for this week's challenge.   Surprisingly, with St. Pat's being one of my favorite holidays (purely for the green factor) I don't have a lot of St. Pat's stuff.  I had green paper but nothing to go with it.  I printed off this image from Bugaboo Stamps as it was offered as a freebie although now I think it is for purchase in the store, thank goodness and the shamrock i cut out using my Cricut.  This is a really simple and flat card because it's doing double duty.  Not only is it for this challenge but I need to mail it out for a St. Patrick's day swap on Swap-bot.com.  The paper was all from my stash ...

A Fairy Hello

Hello! I hope that you moms out there had a lovely Mother's Day yesterday.  There is nothing I am more proud of than being a mom to my little Riley.  I can't believe he'll be 2 in July!  Time does fly. Today is a new challenge on the Lollipop Crafts blog. We are being sponsored by Soft Pencil this week and here is the link to their site and you can check out all the great digital images & all that Elizabeth has to offer.  Our challenge this week is a fancy folds one...so we'd like to see creations with more than one fold on them.  Here is mine for this week. The image is from SoftPencil's Tinytwinies which the DT got to play with.  So cute. This is the Charming Flowers image. How adorable is this!  I colored her using my Copics. I used some Sarah Hurley digital papers for this card. She has some great stuff so make sure you check the link!
