The Wine

We are at the halfway point in our Pile it On challenge of Orange/Black/Purple.  In case you forgot, we are being sponsored by Ike's Art this month. For this week's card I went with a bit of a fun Halloween card using the colors.  The image is from Miss Kate Cuttables and I flattened it in my cricut explore and then cut it out.  The sentiment was a free one that I got online from LoveSVGonline.com  They have sooo many free images that you can use, it's crazy! I added a bit of glossy accents and some wink of stella, just to give it some sparkle and shine.  I also thought it would be fun with some enamel dots.  The DP is just from my stash.  I hope you think it's fun and don't forget to play along with us! Entered into these challenges: As You Like It: CAS or Fun & Fancy (and why) - I always struggle with CAS cards as I like to add lots of layers and bits and bobs..this is a bit on the simpler side and still (I think) a fun card without a...

Hello Walt

Hello Monday Peeps!  Have you stopped by th e UYS blog today? Our new challenge is up!  This week we are using triangles! So I decided to go with a layout today because I really wanted to try a background die cut.  I came across this one from Bits and Pieces .    I thought it would be fun to do a Disney Layout and back the pieces with my Disney papers.  The actual diecut is called Shattered Glass but it has some fun triangle pieces to it. I used DP from Simple Stories & Echo Park, as well as their embellishments.  The sentiments are die cuts from Stampin Up and the internet. I hope you like the layout and feel free to stop by the blog and play along with this week's challenge!

Warm Joy

Image
Have you stopped by the Christmas Crafts All Year Round blog yet?  Our new monthly challenge is up.... Normally when you think of Christmas, you think cold and snow...this month, we want you to think WARM!  Use warm colors on your project ...reds, yellows, oranges. This was a bit of a tricky one for me.  I scoured all my Christmas stuff and I didn't really have anything in those warm colors. Then I happened upon some sheets for a Simple Stories album...since I don't do mini albums, I decided to cut the sheets I wanted to create my card instead.  One of those sheets was this really cool star die cut in a glitter cardstock...I thought this would make an awesome layer.  I did some fussy cutting on another sheet for the flowers and then I picked up a new die cut earlier this year, that I haven't used yet.  It's from Penny Black called "Joy to the World".  I wanted to add a bit of orange in there so I cut it out of orange glitter paper and added ...

Relax

Image
Can you believe it is already the last day of July!  The summer is already half over :(  Summertime is my favorite time to just relax..and hey, guess what...that's our new challenge theme over at Cardz4Guyz!   Show us what relaxing means to you!  Is it hanging out in a chair on the beach, fishing, camping, or maybe yoga....let's see what you come up with. I had zero stamps that I could use for this challenge, so I decided to use my Cricut Explore Air instead.  I found an image that I really liked from the Fun in the Sun cartridge, that I cut out.  I added some fun paper from my Lakeside 6x6 paper pack from Pebbles (it's an oldie - 2012!).  The sentiment I found online and just printed it out on some colored cardstock.  It says Take Time to Relax and enjoy the good life. It's a little hard to see here but I added some glossy accents to his shirt and to the glass and umbrella just for a bit of added texture. Take some time to enjoy your summe...

Vanilla Ice Cream Day!

Image
I LOVE creating cards for obscure holidays!  I find it fun to challenge myself to create a card that fits with the day…. Well, today is Vanilla Ice Cream Day and well guess what!  It’s an ice cream card for you! I was at the farm for the last week on vacation so I brought a few supplies with me, including the bits and bobs I had left over from this huge American Crafts Dear Lizzy Neapolitan kit that I won years ago….yes, I’m still trying to use it up and I’m almost there.. I really just took some of the DP and then some of the rub ons to make the card.  Nothing fancy.  The ice cream was actually on the back side of one of the papers …it had a bunch of cut aparts and so it was perfect for this card! I hope you enjoy it, and go have an ice cream!

Our new challenge is up at Color Crazy Craft Challenge .  This week's sponsor is Ching - Chou Kwik                                   Today I am using the image  Aloha Lady  for my card.  I just did a simple Copic color and then used my Spellbinders Label 26 to cut and layer.  The DP is just from my stash, but I believe it is Crate Paper.  My sentiment is from Paper Smooches and then I just added a few Nuevo dots in Black Be sure to stop by the Color Crazy blog to check out the other DT projects as well as to join in on the challenge.  We are also looking for some guest designers! The blog has all the deets!

The Music Moves Me

Hello one and all! I have a new layout for you today to go along with our new challenge up at Use Your Stuff!   This week's theme is border punches!  I've not been using mine regularly so it was nice to pull them out and play a bit. My layout today is also the March Scrapbook & Cards Today 365 2018   class.  I must say, now that I have committed to doing these classes, I have been finding my love for scrapbooking again, and it's a nice change from doing cards all the time.    For this layout I pulled out a kit that I had created several months ago for a crop and just never got around to using.  The papers are from Everyday Circus by Fancy Pants, as well as some Simple Stories and Heidi Swapp mixed in.  My border punch is EK Success (and I had to practically blow the dust off of it!.) The embellishments stars are cut from the DP and I also used a few pieces from October Afternoon's Saspirilla collection (I've been holding onto these...

Flower Joy

Can you believe it is March already?  One third through 2018!  Wow!  I know we just had Christmas not too long ago, but the beginning of the month marks a new challenge for  Christmas Crafts All Year Long .   Since I work on my cards for craft fairs all year long, I have a new card for you! Our theme this month is Flowers!  You can create any Christmas project you wish, as long as you have flowers on it. For my card I used just things that I've had in my stash.  I'm slowly getting it down, and I find I have more Christmas stuff than anything else.  I'm not sure where the DP is from since it was part of a swap from SplitCoast Stampers, but the rub on (yes! I said rub on, does anyone else still use these?? ) is from Making Memories.  The flowers are Prima.  The small bling are  just from the $$ store. It's just a simple card with a great design and easy to duplicate or mass produce. I hope you like it and don't forget to st...

Flowers for You

Hello everyone!  Sorry I’ve not been on much, lots going on behind the scenes in my house that I’ve had to deal with. Today is a new challenge on the  Color Crazy Challenge Blog  on which I am pleased to be a guest designer. Our challenge this week is sponsored by Creatful Heart Stamps I used the poppy digi stamp for my card this week, but I really wanted to play around with colors so I added some blue to the red (yes in my world poppies are blue!).  I just used some DP that I’ve had in my stash, little bits and pieces that I’ve received from swaps.  I’ve added some Wink of Stella to give a bit of sparkle to the flowers and then some Nuvo drops.  The sentiment is from Your Next Stamp. I hope you like it and feel free to play along.  Don’t forget to stop by the blog and see what the rest of the DT has created for you!

Scrappy Classes

Image
I don't usually make resolutions but this year, the only one I made was to actually do some of the online classes that I had purchased over the last year or so.  I have 6 from Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine! The newest one - SCT-365 2018 is a monthly class where you can do a 2 pg layout as well as a card, designed by some of the biggest and best in the Papercrafting world! I am so happy to be on track for this year...I've done both January and now February!   I'm slowly working through a bunch of photos and kits, the majority of which are from trips so you are going to see a lot of those in the upcoming months! These classes are super easy to do - with pictures, detailed instructions, free cut files and exclusive sketches!  You can find all the details here!     Give one a try!  You won't be disappointed and you will be pushing through layouts and cards in no time!
