A Love Song

Image
February is the month of love.  We celebrate love in all its forms and shapes.....one of those is the love a mother has for her child! I had wanted to have a child for a long time, so when I found out that I was pregnant with my son, my heart began to overflow with love...before he was even born!  I didn't even know I could love someone so much that I had never met! This week at Use Your Stuff , we are being inspired by a love song!  The love song that I chose was called Baby Mine by Bette Midler from the Beaches Soundtrack - one of my all time favorite movies!  In the movie, that song is playing as one of the main characters is getting ready for the birth of her baby and they are decorating the nursery...I new I wanted to use it for the inspiration for my layout. My favorite line is:   B aby mine, don't you cry.                           Baby mine, dry your eyes.        ...

A Blessing and a Gift

Hi Everyone!  I'm back from my annual Cuba vacation, which was perfect of course! Amazing weather and lots of fun! Time to get busy creating again!   Our challenge this week at Use Your Stuff is to create a project using 3 different patterned papers.  It's for challenges like this that I love co-ordinating paper from manufactures, and when they are double sided- even better! As I was doing a monthly challenge on the Scrap Shotz site as well which was to use a themed paper for a non-themed project, I chose some Valentine's Day papers from My Mind's Eye. I've had these papers for years and it was finally nice to get them open and used.  I chose them for a new baby layout instead!  I hope you like it and I hope you will join us on the blog and play along.      Paper: Be Loved & Love Me Do: My Minds Eye Vellum sentiment: DCWV Embellishments:  Ribbon, sequins - Michaels, Clear Date Piece - Little Yellow Bicycle, Hearts &...

Old School

Image
It is our first challenge of the new year at Use Your Stuff and I went old school for this one.  The challenge was to use tags on your project and I found some bits and pieces in my stash...die cuts, scraps, transparencies and decided to go with this layout. I don't often do double page layouts, but one of my challenges for this year is to use up my stash and a double layout will definitely help me do that!   It just has some simple stamping and inking.  I haven't found pictures to put into it yet....it feels vintage to me, so I need to find some of my old pics and see what I can pop in there. I hope you like it and will join us at UYS this week and play along!

Waiting on you

Good morning!  I think Spring may actually be poking through now.  It has been the longest winter ever! With Mother's Day fast approaching here in North America, our theme Flowers for Mom is what's up this week at Use it Tuesday.   A time to celebrate those women in our lives who were the big influence.   Maybe it wasn't your mom, but your grandma, or perhaps an aunt or any other female who was like a Mother to you. I have a layout for you today that highlights my pregnancy with Riley and how crazy I was waiting for him to come out.  In case you didn't know he was 41+4 when I finally went into labour.  I felt like I was pregnant forever!!! That's my belly a couple weeks or so before he was born and then a pic of him a couple of days old!  All the product is from my stash, so I'm not entirely sure I know where they came from.  I hope that you enjoy the layout and please stop by the blog to see the other gorgeous projects the DT created th...

Happy Tuesday.  We have a new challenge at Use It Tuesday for you this week.   With the theme of punch out we would like you to use your punches and/or dies. I have a layout for you this week.  It's actually a re-purposed one.  I had done it a few years ago and then decided I didn't like it.  So I redid it for this challenge.  I used a punch to make the film strip for the pictures.  The stickers were from the original layout as well.  I am not sure who the paper is by as it is from my stash. Be sure to stop by the blog and check out the other great design team projects that have been created for you this week.

Have I mentioned how much I hate doing income tax???Argh! It's driving me crazy. Anyway, Red Carpet Studios has a new challenge on their blog that I have been meaning to get to and so here's a layout I created. The challenge is based on the movie The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and so the challenge is to use one or more buttons on your project.  Surprisingly, I have not seen this movie yet...should probably check it out on Netflix. Here is a layout using my favorite subject of course.  Taken a year or so ago, just playing in the backyard, looking at everything, ever inquisitive. I hope you like it.  Everything is from my stash.  I cannot remember the name of the DP set I used for this one.  I just remember it had the name garden in the title.  That's how long it has been in my stash. LOL Entered into these challenges as well Can you Dig it : Little Ones Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges : for the boys Crafting When we Can: Earth, Air, Fire...
