If The Scrap Fits

Hello everyone!  Sorry I’ve not been on much, lots going on behind the scenes in my house that I’ve had to deal with. Today is a new challenge on the  Color Crazy Challenge Blog  on which I am pleased to be a guest designer. Our challenge this week is sponsored by Creatful Heart Stamps I used the poppy digi stamp for my card this week, but I really wanted to play around with colors so I added some blue to the red (yes in my world poppies are blue!).  I just used some DP that I’ve had in my stash, little bits and pieces that I’ve received from swaps.  I’ve added some Wink of Stella to give a bit of sparkle to the flowers and then some Nuvo drops.  The sentiment is from Your Next Stamp. Happy weekend all!  It's a long weekend here in Canada, but unfortunately, I have to work so no camping for me. BOO!  I have been hard at work clearing off my scrap space as I am preparing to make a schwack of cards for Ronald McDonald House in BC as part of a group in Splitcoaststampers.  Anyway..I've had this pile of scraps and bits and bobs on my desk FOREVER because I didn't want to throw them out until I tried to use them up a bit. I wanted to share with you a few of the card I made with the scraps & die cuts and some inspiration from Pinterest. So I get the monthly Paper Pumpkin kit from Stampin' Up.  I'm not 100% sold on it yet (it's been since September) but can't quite bring myself to cancel.  It's been hit and miss for me. The December kit was a desk calendar kit.  Ya, not my thing.  So with the help of Pinterest, I found some great card ideas instead! We have a challenge at Use Your Stuff this week which is Flowers!  Perfect.  The kit has some great flowery bits that I could use!  Take a look!     They actually turned out great! Thank you to those totally creative individuals on Pinterest! Hello all! Welcome to Monday here on my blog. It's been awhile since I've posted here on blogger as I usually do everything on my wordpress, but I really need to start using both of them! Good Monday morning!  It always comes so quick doesn't it??? Good morning all..it's Monday so another new challenge over at Lollipop Crafts .  Our great sponsorthis week is Just Some Lines and they gave us some images to work with.  We're doing a non square/rectangle card/project this week...so if you have one that has a shape to it, make sure you enter it into our challenge on the blog. Here is mine this week I cut the shape out using my A Child's Year cartridge on my cricut.  That cart is great for cutting out shapes.  For something different, I had tried coloring the images using my chalks and my blender pen...It didn't work out quite the way I wanted it to, other than in the hair, so I went over the images with my glitter and stickles instead because the shine matched the bit of glitter in the DP I used.  To finish it off, I just used some buttons and flowers in my stash, a die cut butterfly that was white and inked green and then a few pearls.  The stamped sentiment is just from an old set I have and use qui...

So today's marks my debut as part of the Sarah Hurley DT.  Our theme this week is Flowers... Without further adieu here is mine... (shout out to Lori Padberg .  It was one of her creations that inspired mine.  I loved the simple look of it) I used some digital paper & sentiment from Sarah's line which can be found here . The flower is from my stash and I just inked it up a bit with some red ink.  I did some die cutting as well for the flowers and used the spellbinders to showcase the flower.  And of course some embossing using the fleur de lis embossing folder from Cuttlebug.  A really simple card but I quite like it.  Make sure you stop by the Sarah Hurley challenge blog to get your own flower entries in!  We can't wait to see them! Welcome to Monday! It's challenge day at The Crazy Challenge and this week, we're looking for all the lovely ladies out there!  I must be on a vintage kick, which for me is surprising, because I never really thought of myself as the vintage type..anyway, here is my card. The image is downloaded from the internet (I really wish I had a stash of vintage images from a book or something). The music sheet is left over from a Tim Holtz Christmas Tag..it was printed out onto vellum and then inked and distressed to give it a vintagy feel.  The bling, pearl strand, ribbons and flowers are all from my stash. Hey there...so my last tag challenge as the Tag Diva for Challenge Masters, is to create a green tag..it can be any subject as long as it is mainly green...you can check out all the deets here by the way... So this is the one I created. I colored my tag using Pine Needles, Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint Distress Inks with a little Vintage Photo thrown in. I had printed off a vintage pic from the internet because I really don't have a lot of St. Patrick's Day images. I used the vintage photo on it as well and then the rest of the tag was just made using some bits and bobs from my stash. The DP is some BG I've been using for other projects..The flower I inked up a bit to blend it with the tag and same with the lacy ribbon on the bottom (it was originally beige).
