Mojo Monday # 486

Image
Hello All, Playing along with Mojo Monday's sketch today! This sketch is pretty layer heavy which for me is great because I love layers. I have a big box of loose papers, some that are mine, and some that I got from swaps and such.  I really wanted to start getting this box down, so I used some papers for this challenge.  I don't know where they are from as I think I got them in a swap. I made two cards, basically the same but with a slight variation.  I hope you like it and don't forget to play along! DP: Unknown Cardstock: Recollections Sequins: stash Stamps: Stampin' Up Twine:  Maya Road Die Cuts:  Spellbinders Embossing Folder:  Darice I've entered into these other challenges as well Crafting from the heart:  Anything goes Ooh La La Creations:  Embossing (Wet or Dry)

A Love Song

Image
February is the month of love.  We celebrate love in all its forms and shapes.....one of those is the love a mother has for her child! I had wanted to have a child for a long time, so when I found out that I was pregnant with my son, my heart began to overflow with love...before he was even born!  I didn't even know I could love someone so much that I had never met! This week at Use Your Stuff , we are being inspired by a love song!  The love song that I chose was called Baby Mine by Bette Midler from the Beaches Soundtrack - one of my all time favorite movies!  In the movie, that song is playing as one of the main characters is getting ready for the birth of her baby and they are decorating the nursery...I new I wanted to use it for the inspiration for my layout. My favorite line is:   B aby mine, don't you cry.                           Baby mine, dry your eyes.        ...

A Blessing and a Gift

Hi Everyone!  I'm back from my annual Cuba vacation, which was perfect of course! Amazing weather and lots of fun! Time to get busy creating again!   Our challenge this week at Use Your Stuff is to create a project using 3 different patterned papers.  It's for challenges like this that I love co-ordinating paper from manufactures, and when they are double sided- even better! As I was doing a monthly challenge on the Scrap Shotz site as well which was to use a themed paper for a non-themed project, I chose some Valentine's Day papers from My Mind's Eye. I've had these papers for years and it was finally nice to get them open and used.  I chose them for a new baby layout instead!  I hope you like it and I hope you will join us on the blog and play along.      Paper: Be Loved & Love Me Do: My Minds Eye Vellum sentiment: DCWV Embellishments:  Ribbon, sequins - Michaels, Clear Date Piece - Little Yellow Bicycle, Hearts &...

Waiting on you

Good morning!  I think Spring may actually be poking through now.  It has been the longest winter ever! With Mother's Day fast approaching here in North America, our theme Flowers for Mom is what's up this week at Use it Tuesday.   A time to celebrate those women in our lives who were the big influence.   Maybe it wasn't your mom, but your grandma, or perhaps an aunt or any other female who was like a Mother to you. I have a layout for you today that highlights my pregnancy with Riley and how crazy I was waiting for him to come out.  In case you didn't know he was 41+4 when I finally went into labour.  I felt like I was pregnant forever!!! That's my belly a couple weeks or so before he was born and then a pic of him a couple of days old!  All the product is from my stash, so I'm not entirely sure I know where they came from.  I hope that you enjoy the layout and please stop by the blog to see the other gorgeous projects the DT created th...

It's a Boy

Happy Friday! So happy it's the weekend, even if I don't really have anything planned. Just sharing with you our new challenge at Creative Corner Challenges this week.  Our last one for February hosted by Tina.  Next month I will be hosting the challenges and offering some great weekly prizes so make sure you check in each week. A super easy challenge this week, we just want to see some designer paper on your project.  It can be old, new, one or two.  Head over to the blog to link up and to see what the DT has for you this week. Here is mine for you this week, a cute little baby card.  Since I am on a buying freeze right now, everything on this card is from my stash.  The paper is sooo old.  It is from Hot off The Press's 8x8 baby kit.  The image was from a swap I did ages ago and the sentiment sticker I've had for ages.  It was fun to make a 5x5 card this time instead of my usual 4.25x5.5.  I hope you like it.  Entered i...
