If The Scrap Fits

So this past weekend, was my yearly trek to the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival hosted by the lovely ladies at Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine. This year's theme was the 80's and I totally got my groove on!  It was so much fun!  I am also excited to report that I will have 2 layouts published in the upcoming spring issue, so I cannot wait for you to see that!  It will be one double layout and one single!  So excited and grateful to Canadian Scrapbooker for allowing me to be a part of their amazing magazine that highlights such astounding talent from coast to coast! Hello all! Welcome to Monday here on my blog. It's been awhile since I've posted here on blogger as I usually do everything on my wordpress, but I really need to start using both of them! So today's marks my debut as part of the Sarah Hurley DT.  Our theme this week is Flowers... Without further adieu here is mine... (shout out to Lori Padberg .  It was one of her creations that inspired mine.  I loved the simple look of it) I used some digital paper & sentiment from Sarah's line which can be found here . The flower is from my stash and I just inked it up a bit with some red ink.  I did some die cutting as well for the flowers and used the spellbinders to showcase the flower.  And of course some embossing using the fleur de lis embossing folder from Cuttlebug.  A really simple card but I quite like it.  Make sure you stop by the Sarah Hurley challenge blog to get your own flower entries in!  We can't wait to see them! So today Sarah Hurley is releasing a new set of digi stamps...and it's all about the Pirates! These stamps are colored and plain for those that like to feel like a kid again and color your own. So the Design Team was asked to come up with some projects highlighting the new line (which by the way you can find here ). Now normally, I'm not really the type of person to create something digitally and then just print it off. I usually like to get my hands dirty, so I thought I would blend the two. I took some of the images and put a scene together that I would then make into an invitation. All the images on this are found in the new collection. I then printed it out onto some Kraft cardstock and then just proceeded to distress it...I ripped first then went over it with the distressing tool, and then I inked it with my ever loving Tim Holtz distress inks in Old Paper and Walnut Stain. Hey there...so my last tag challenge as the Tag Diva for Challenge Masters, is to create a green tag..it can be any subject as long as it is mainly green...you can check out all the deets here by the way... So this is the one I created. I colored my tag using Pine Needles, Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint Distress Inks with a little Vintage Photo thrown in. I had printed off a vintage pic from the internet because I really don't have a lot of St. Patrick's Day images. I used the vintage photo on it as well and then the rest of the tag was just made using some bits and bobs from my stash. The DP is some BG I've been using for other projects..The flower I inked up a bit to blend it with the tag and same with the lacy ribbon on the bottom (it was originally beige). I made these for a yahoo group swap. The theme was 'spring' I inked them with some tim holtz distress inks, then used one of his masks and inked over that. I had a wood stamp with some old french writing which went over top, added some punched butterflies and bling, a little fringe at the top and voila!
